King Academy is a family run performing arts school for ages 3 and up based at Wigston College, Leicestershire.
Our inclusive offering is focused on providing a comprehensive platform, that champions and supports the confidence and professional growth of young artists across Leicestershire.
Our goal is to provide access to the disciplines of singing, dancing and acting for all children, helping to create rounded performers. Starting with our Kinglets where our young performers will be given the opportunity to enjoy and learn the basics of performance, right through to our older age groups looking to hone their singing, dancing or acting abilities.
Our sessions include Singing, Acting and different forms of dance such as ballet and tap.
We run two sessions
Kinglets 5pm - 6pm (3yrs - 5yrs)
Main Academy 6pm - 8pm (6yrs plus)

All of our teachers are professional experienced performers in their own right, who have a passion for the performance arts, musical theatre, acting, dance and teaching others to perform. They are all fully DBS checked.
In addition to being highly accomplished in their fields, they are also energetic, positive and caring people who love to support young performers on their own journey.
Georgia leads our Dance pathway, she completed her professional training at Bird College in Kent, where she graduated in 2009.
Her theatre credits include: Noitamina (The Orchard Theatre, Dartford); Legends, Icons and Idols (The Orchard Theatre, Dartford); Sweet Charity (Studio Theatre) PeterPan ( Hall for Cornwall, Truro); Reaching Out For Africa (Royal Albert Hall); Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (Hall For Cornwall, Truro); Sing Your Story (The Epsom Playhouse); Oliver (Theatre Royal , Plymouth).
Television Credits Include: Casualty (BBC); Reporter for Newsround (BBC); Record Breakers (BBC).
Tim leads the Performing Arts pathway. He is a long-standing member of The Little Theatre in Leicester for the last 8 years, he's performed in numerous productions there including plays, musicals and many pantomimes.
He trained classically with a Grade 8 in singing (ABRSM) and is a Musical Director for KW Productions.
Tim has a range of experience from choral music to musicals, to writing his own songs. Tim has worked as a Teaching Assistant at Primary schools and a Youth Worker for young adults and teenagers.
He is currently studying to become a Music Therapist at The University of Derby.
Olivia supports the delivery of our Kinglet Academy.
She attends Studio 79 studying a BTEC level 3 in performing arts (Musical Theatre).
A member of Jodie Steele's JSA elite squad.
Although the youngest of our team, Liv has worked with many local theatre groups, recently performed as Pandora in Adrian Mole at the Little Theatre, Anna in Frozen as part of Swing Theatre and will next be playing Mary Lennox in The Secret Garden at the Little Theatre in April 2024.
Courtney supports the team in delivering sessions across the academy.
Courtney trained at Alana Shirley Academy (ASA) of Theatre Arts, she was awarded the Kerry Ellis Scholarship and completed a BTEC Level 3 in Musical Theatre in 2022.
Courtney has been a long-standing member of local companies; Pauline Quirke Academy and Leicester Theatre Group, where she has been involved in many productions over the years.
She is studying Creative Advertising at Lincoln University, her passion for musical theatre and performing arts remains the same, yet loves to help others develop and grow.
James King attended Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA) where he completed a BTEC Level 3 in Acting. He then completed a foundation degree at School of Theatre Excellence (SOTE) in performing arts in 2021.
In 2022 James won a prestiguos place at The Urdang performing arts school in London, where he is studying a Professional Dance and Musical Theatre BA (Hons) until 2025.
A regular at the Little Theatre, James has played many roles for various local theatre societies.
Nick supports our Performing Arts pathway when back in Leicester. He trained at Bishop Grosseteste, graduating in 2007 with a BA (Hons) Degree in Drama.
In 2010 he trained as a teacher and is currently Head of Performing Arts at a Nottinghamshire Academy.
He is currently training at London's Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts on their Masters Acting programme.
Nick's performance and director credits are phenomenal and we are delighted to have him on board.
Chloe supports the delivery of our Kinglet Academy.
Chloe also attends Studio 79, where she studies a BTEC level 3 in performing arts (Musical Theatre).
A member of Jodie Steele's JSA Elite Squad, Chloe's recently performed in the Little Theatre's christmas panto.
We have a wide support team headed up by Liam and Helen King.
