Who are we and what do we do

King Academy is a new performing arts school for children aged between 3 and over.

Our inclusive offering, is focused on providing a comprehensive platform, that champions and supports the confidence and professional growth of young artists across Leicestershire.

Providing the disciplines of singing, dancing and acting for all.

Firstly, let us introduce ourselves, there is Helen, Mum of the family and Liam, Dad of the family. We have three theatrical children, James, Courtney and Olivia. Our love for theatre and the arts began when Courtney was just 3 years old. She was a very dramatic child and we decided to take her to a stage drama school. Courtney enjoyed her time there and stayed for a couple of years but felt something wasnt quite right, and a new academy which focused on Film, TV, Comedy, Drama and Musical Theatre opened.

Courtney and Olivia joined this academy the day it opened. After seeing how much they loved it, James joined a year later. They all stayed for over ten years each where their individual passion grew. Although a great experience, this academy didnt provide many opportunities for stage performances which was something our kids were incredibly passionate about. So we found ourselves travelling across the midlands to rehearsals, auditions and shows to support them in gaining that enjoyment and experience of stage performance. They have all enjoyed a number of fantastic opportunities together and independently

We have made many friends in this community, principles, teachers, directors, performers and other parents. Two of those are qualified teachers Georgia Elena Page and Tim Stokes, these two are part of the King Family and we are delighted to be working with them on this venture.

Over the last 20 years, as parents we have been able to see our kids have some absolutely fantastic opportunities, we have also had some indifferent experences, that said the good far outweigh any negative and we have all had a fantastic time. Musical theatre and the arts have helped shape them as adults, it's provided them with confidence, drive and dertermination to succeed at what ever path. This is testament to themselves, but also the many fantastic groups we have been involved with.

Across many of the theatre companies and groups we have been involved in we have attempted to collate all of the exceptional elements, and hopefully improved some bits too. Putting the children at the heart of what we do, we aim to provide an unrivaled experience for students of King Academy.
